We don’t recommend buying equipment just for class. Try our gear, then buy your own with more info to work with. OK to bring gear you already have.

What to Wear on Class Day?  Final paddling clothing decisions will me made once we see the weather and water in-person

Pre-Class

  • *Payment is required to hold your spot in our classes. Check for the “Event Welcome Notification” email for payment directions.
  • Make sure you’ve filled out your Rental Gear and clicked ‘yes’ for our Waiver from your “Student Dashboard”

Land Based / Lecture Classes:

  • Folding chair unless the location has seating / tables
  • Credit card or cash to purchase class resources if available from instructor
  • Mask
  • Something to write on
  • Warm clothes if held outside
  • Snacks / Hydration
  • Wide brimmed hat if outside and sunny
  • Prescriptions / Epi Pen etc
  • If held at at cafe or restaurant, we ask that you purchase food/beverages to support the establishment

Required On-Water Class Items

  • DRY BAG or Ziplock FOR YOUR MASK. We wear the mask through the beach to the water, then take it off. You’ll want to keep it dry while on-water.
  • EYEGLASSES STRAP: For sunglasses and prescription glasses. Required for prescription glasses. We are not responsible for any lost glasses, keys, etc.
  • PLACE TO HIDE CAR KEYS during class. I don’t bring my keys on the water.  Uber/Lyft riders can leave your keys in my car.
  • MEDICAL PRESCRIPTIONS you need on-water such as inhalers and EpiPens. We’ll put in a waterproof bag.
  • WHAT TO WEAR UNDER A WETSUIT: Bathing Suit or non-cotton crew neck shirt and shorts. Less clothing means more flexibility and a better fitting suit. No cotton.
  • IF NOT WEARING A WETSUIT: Wear a neoprene top and/or bottom or rash guard if you run warm. Swimsuits are fine for hot summer days in some locations.
  • EXTRAS – Bring Hydration (water bottle), energy bar, sunblock.
  • PHONE – Only bring on-water if you have a tethered waterproof case/bag so you don’t lose it.
