Learning to SUP Surf the Washington Coast
We’ll cover the essential skills to become a confident and safe paddle surfer in the Pacific Northwest. We start you out on small easy waves at one of two scenic coastal locations. Everyone will rides waves their first day.
At the end of this class you’ll be able to choose the right gear and locations for surfing, launch, paddle out, surf waves, directional control, how to fall safely and be a good SUP ambassador in the surf zone.

Duration: 4 hours. We’ll take breaks.
Who Should Take This Class? L1+ paddlers (see our skills scale) seeking first time surfing instruction. Or Completion of our SUP Basics or SUP Sampler classes. You must be good physical shape to surf and be able to handle paddling in bumps and small waves. We recommend a refresher class if you haven’t paddled in awhile.

Rental Equipment – We supply all gear with cost.
Class Size 2 – 4
Bringing Your Own Gear? You’ll need a stable board to have a fun day in the waves. Narrow race boards will be tippy and difficult to manage. Full surfing wetsuit 4/3 or thicker or drysuit. Booties recommended and neoprene hood. We also require a leash.
